Make -A-Wish HK Store
GOFO Art is pleased to support Make-A-Wish Hong Kong by donating artist Ian Williams' new edition for its online charity sales. All fundraised donations will be used to support Make-A-Wish Hong Kong life-changing wishes granting for children with critical illnesses.
Ian Williams’ practice is concerned with the interpretation of reality within virtual environments and how this can be expressed through painting. Employing found objects from video games, this Perth based artist utilizes the conventions of still life painting to explore the properties of the virtual everyday object. Playing with the genre of still life, which typically presents inanimate subject matter, his works originate from the moving digital world. Selecting and exporting everyday objects from within video game environments, Williams’ creates painting compositions that toy with real world phenomena such as gravity, scale, and the forces of the collision. Illuminated from the first person perspective the viewer is placed within a vaguely familiar yet physically impossible choreography of objects.
Art lovers can choose from a range of six editions, each work arrives signed and numbered in an edition of 50. One of the highlighted pieces “Koncrete Kandy” was in honor of Wish Children and specially created by the artist to support Make-A-Wish Hong Kong during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Koncrete Kandy was painted especially for Wish Children. The work is both a celebration of my love of painting, and a symbolic arrangement of forms. I wanted to convey a sense of nurturing, protection, and elevation.” says Williams. “The painting shows some larger forms surrounding smaller forms, which represents those who can help surrounding children less fortunate.”
